What I Wear to Disneyland (as a fashion influencer)

Imagine looking forward to one day where you really just focus on having FUN?? Yea, that’s what my Disney days are. And since I’ve been going so frequently, I have mastered dressing up for the occasion where I am equal parts cute, stylish, and comfy. I have had some trial and error but below are a few styling tips (along with some outfit inspo) for your next Disney trip!

Opt for a Cushioned or Walking Sneaker

This is a rule that I follow about 95% of the time. There have been a few instances where I have gone in either combat boots or flat knee high boots, but in both of those occasions, I knew that I wasn’t going to be that much walking in the parks. So I could get away with it. But, if this is your first time at the park and you’re wanting to really get the bang for your buck, you’re likely going to be doing A LOT of walking and you want to be as comfortable as you can get.

Not all sneakers are made the same either. Personally, I like to go for ones that have a bit more cushion in them and that are supportive to my ankles, like these from Dr. Scholls. Take it from me, your ankles and soles will be on FIRE and the end of the day (because you likely walked about 20k steps) so going with a walking shoe like the New Balance sneakers is also a smart decision.

Clothing That’s Non-Restrictive

I personally hate feeling like I can’t move properly when I’m active. So even when thinking of outfits to wear to the park, I try to make sure that if I’ll be doing more walking that day, I’m wearing something that gives me the freedom to walk as quickly and move as much as I want. So relaxed pants (cargos, wide leg trousers, loose jeans, or leggings) are my usual go tos.

The same goes for if I’m wearing a dress, or a skirt, and the top I pair with my pants. If I’m wearing a dress, it will always have more volume rather than being fitted. This dress style is one that I really like because of the a-line shape. I wore a similar version here. With tops, I usually opt for something more loose, whether regular sized or crop if I know I’ll be at the parks all day. But if it’s a shorter top, I’m ok with going with something a bit more fitted.

A tried and true look that is effortless to throw together is a 2 pc set. Whether it’s shorts, pants, long sleeve, or short sleeve, I find this outfit combo a quick remedy in the case I am stumped on what to wear. And the cherry on top is that all you have to put together are the accessories to bring the outfit to life. I wore this plisse button up and short set on my Disney world trip and loved how it looked!

Sunglasses

I’m convinced the sun is somehow different at these parks, because without fail, I am needing a pair of sunglasses to keep the sun out of my eyes. I always carry a pair in my bag just in case. And the days I’ve forgotten about them, I always regret it because they come in handy!

Always Bring a Jacket or Sweater

Depending on when you’re visiting the park, this may be a no brainer. But in the summer, the park can get HOT during the day. But at night, it tends to get pretty chilly, so I will always bring a jacket or sweater to stuff into one of the lockers until I need it. This has saved me numerous times when the weather has randomly gotten chillier than expected before the sun officially set.

Although the park sells sweaters and jackets, I like to purchase these when I know I will be wearing them again and again. Not saying that you shouldn’t, but there are much better deals to be found online versus getting directly in person.

A Small Crossbody Bag, Fanny pack, or Backpack

Depending on how I am feeling and what I am wearing, I have opted for all three of these at different times. This is usually where I start when planning an outfit. Knowing what bag I am wearing helps to inform the look I want to go for. Now, if you’re going as a family with children, you’re absolutely going to need to take a backpack.

If you’re going childless and with friends (or by yourself), your future self will thank you for opting for a smaller backpack, like the ones from Loungefly. You’re still on theme but the weight is equally distributed. With all the walking around, you’ll start to feel the weight of the bag by the end of the day. As mentioned above, there are lockers in the park. So whatever you can’t fit into your bag that you don’t immediately need, stuff it in a locker for safe keeping.

A Proper Bra

For my ladies with a bigger chest, this is something that should be a non negotiable. I’m not a fan of underwire bras in general, so wearing them on an all day trip to the parks is simply not happening. I like to go for bras that have support but are unwired and unlined. this ensures I still get the support while feeling comfortable and unrestricted. Wear Lively has a bra style that I think works great for park days, as it is pretty full coverage, has straps that can be clasped in different ways, and the usual 3 clamp back strap for maximum hold.

Hopefully this post leads you in the right direction as you figure out what to wear on your next Disneyland (or world) trip!
