Velvet Suit

Ladies and Gentlemen, I just have to say that this velvet suit set (blazer and pants) has me feeling like a BOSS! Women in suits is a power statement in and of itself. there was a point in time that women couldn’t even wear pants (which is wild), so when I see a woman rocking the heck out of a suit I’m in awe.

I have been wanting to get my hands on a piece like this for the longest. And now was the perfect time to scoop one up. I need to be ready for an occasion that will warrant me wearing this. The main thing that drew me to this number is the deep berry color. In velvet form, it reflects so nicely in daylight and can be combined with more sparkly elements to really give it that holiday pop. This look is a great alternative if you’re not into wearing dresses or skirts this time of year, but still want to be festive.

The material also isn’t heavy, so this can definitely be worn through Fall, Winter and Spring. All it takes is switching up the shirt underneath and a season appropriate shoe.

Winter Outfit: Pair with a thicker turtleneck, black faux fur coat, and a pair of faux snake skin booties.

PERSPECTIVE

As we go through this season of feeling the need to get get get, it’s fair to take a step back and analyze the “more” you are trying to attain. While some people may see more in the physical sense, sometimes more is internal. More compassion, more love, more faith, more patience. We tend to look at others and think they have it all together, without really knowing their story. Then there are some people who have nothing, and yet, they have all those attributes mentioned above in abundance.

This season, I’m taking time to constantly reflect on how far I’ve come. This time last year was completely different for me, and to be where I am today is nothing short but the grace of God.
