The Two Makeup Applications I Never Leave the House Without

I don’t wear foundation everyday. Mainly out of sheer laziness. While I do enjoy putting on a full face, it takes a lot of effort, and most days, I want effortless. But there are two makeup applications I never leave the house without: Brows and Eyelashes! To be honest, these features are my favorite on my face (besides my face, of course) and when they are accentuated…ooooo boy! But I think this can go for anyone. Defining your brows and applying mascara can definitely have you appear awake and ready for the day, without all the extras.

Brows

My brows have always had a special place in my heart. Growing up, they were always full and even when I got into college, I had good experiences with getting it waxed (and then threaded). But when I went to grad school, I had one bad experience with a  threading professional who took off more brow than I wanted, and ever since then, I have never gone back to someone to get my brows done. Instead, I let them grow out, tweeze as necessary, and let a brow pencil and pomade do the rest!

The two products I’ve been using on my brows as of late are:

NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Espresso to outline my brows and feather out any harsh lines

NYX Tame & Frame Brow Pomade in Espresso to fill in the brows using an angled eyeliner brush

Eyelashes

Now, if my brows have a special place in my heart, then my eyelashes are the crown jewel of my eye. I can admit that there are some days I can’t be bothered with brows either. Rarely, but those days exist. But, applying mascara on my lashes is equivalent to me drinking 8 cups of water a day. It’s NECESSARY…AF! I’m grateful to have pretty lengthy lashes that pop when mascara is added to them so I’ve never been someone that wears falsies often.

My go to mascara right is is the Kush Mascara by Milk Makeup. My other holy grail is Better Than Sex by Too Faced. Between those two, my lashes are always on point, if I do say so myself. What I like about both mascara brands is that they have a wider, rounder brush which adds all the volume. But specifically with Kush Mascara, I like that it doesn’t crumble throughout the day. I have this odd habit of picking at my lashes when I am wearing mascara, I don’t why. But, when I do, I’m not left with little black crumbles all over my glasses. Also, this mascara is vegan as they use CBD oil instead of beeswax to create the bond that holds onto the lashes.

So there we have it, my two holy grail products/makeup applications that I never leave the house without.

Until next time…
