5 Step Daytime Skincare Routine for Healthy Skin

I take my daytime skincare routine as serious as I take my nighttime skincare routine. Although it consist of less products, I still think it’s important to make sure that you are taking care of your face in the at both times of the day. So today’s post I am going to be taking a little deep dive into my 5 step daytime skincare routine for healthy skin. Keep reading for a breakdown of the products!

Cleanser

I always start off by washing my face with a gentle cleanser. My holy grail is the Soy Face Cleanser by Fresh that is perfect for my oily combination skin. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling stripped of moisture while still doing the work to remove the gunk from the night off. I know some people use micellar water as a cleanser for the AM, but I like to ensure that my skin as clean as it needs to be before I apply other products. Below are some additional cleansers that I stand by:

Toner

I always tone my face. Always, day and night. It’s actually the one step that I genuinely believe has played a role in getting my skin to where it’s at today. A toner provides the balance to the skin that is very necessary to help prep the skin for the next products in your routine. Essentially, it’s like a catalyst. Below are three of my favorite toners I have been using and love (the Glow Recipe one literally leaves your face glowing…just saying…):

Serum

This step could be optional, but I definitely prefer using a lightweight serum in the daytime. I usually go for a brightening serum to help give my skin an extra glow boost. I also find that using a Gua Sha tool or jade roller some days helps to penetrate the products deeper into my skin. Overall, using a serum everyday has most definitely been a huge contributor to evening out my skin tone and improving the texture of my skin.

Moisturizer

This is important. Simply put. This is the one step that you definitely should not skip out on, ever. I used to be the type of person that wouldn’t moisturize because I was afraid of being “too oily”, not realizing that my skin only then produced more oil to make up for the lack of hydration. A self fulfilling prophecy. So moisturize your face boo. Lather that sucka up!

Sunscreen

Finally, you need to put on sunscreen girl. NEED. This is a non negotiable. My discoloration on my cheek bones have significantly decreased and I attribute that to wearing my sunscreen daily. If you currently deal with discoloration, the sun will only make those areas darker. If you’re wanting a more even skin tone, implementing a sunscreen into your daytime skincare routine will be a game changer and you’ll also be saving your skin in the long run. Hello to looking 30 at 60! Yasss!

Hope you find this step by step helpful. Trust me, your skin will thank you!

Until next time…
