How to Look Expensive without Breaking the Bank

I’m a self proclaimed bougie person. I like the finer things in life. I like things that look expensive. But, I also like to be smart about the way I use my money and because I enjoy clothing so much, I have to be particularly careful with not just spending all my hard earned coin on an outfit. So I wanted to share the 4 ways on how to look expensive without breaking the bank. Y’all ready??how to look expensivehow to look expensive

When wearing white, opt for an off white/cream shade vs. a stark white. I promise you, adjusting the shade of white you choose to wear can go a very long way. Off white and cream give off a very clean and refreshed vibe, while stark white can come off looking a little cheap (depending on the item). The former pairs really nicely with a variety of different colors, while the latter may have you…

Shop designer pieces through consignment shops or rent them out. The one thing I admire about certain designer pieces is their ability to remain timeless. Like a Chanel quilted bag. But some designer items can be trendy and honestly, may not always be worth that pretty penny, unless you got it, then by all means! For the average person (i.e. me), shopping designer isn’t something that I’m currently able to do (at the moment). But, if you’re willing to search, you may just come across a gem in your local thrift store. And since it’s a vintage, it’ll be unique!

Wearing sunglasses. Ok, you’re probably thinking…what?? But I promise you, wearing a pair of sunglasses will almost immediately elevate your look and make you look a little more expensive than before. And they most definitely do not have to be designer shades. Majority of the sunglasses I own aren’t designer. Majority of them cost m under $15. But whenever I pair them with an outfit, like in today’s look, I always feel like my net worth just multiplied a bit. Try it out. You’ll be surprised!

Fit matters. While the oversized trend is something that I can always get behind, there’s nothing like having pieces that fit you perfectly. There’s a reason why celebs in tailored suits always look so fresh and sophisticated. The suit was designed just for them, and maybe we can’t get items designed just for us, but ohhhh can we get close! If something is slightly off, get it tailored. You won’t regret it. I’ve done this a few times to get things to taken in at my waist for a more cinched look.
