And as much as I enjoy dressing to the 9, wearing 4-5 inch heels is just not the vibe I go for when I’m with family. Which is why a kitten heel boot is a perfect alternative. These are satin material which also adds a level of dressy.
This “skirt” is actually a dress that I shared earlier this year on the blog and on my Instagram. I love re-working the items I have in my closet in more ways than one. And now I’m ready to give this item away (which gives me the chance to replace it with something else).

One thing I’ve always loved about this time of year is being able to spend time with family. My mom was a huge proponent of family time and that spirit hasn’t left now that she’s gone. BUT, I would be lying if I said I didn’t feel this emptiness. As much as I still enjoy being around family, it just isn’t the same without her here. I feel like she was the glue that kept us together, and now, we are trying our best to keep things bonded with metaphorical tape. A feat in itself.
I’m training my mind to be ok with this new reality and everything it has to offer. It doesn’t always have to be doom and gloom. My mom wouldn’t want it that way. So, this holiday season, I’m taking the good with the bad, and giving it to God.
And I hope that if any of you are feeling the same way or feeling empty this time of year, that you will do the same.
