Nigerian Owned Clothing Brands

In case you didn’t know, I am Nigerian. From the Edo/Benin and Yoruba tribe to be exact. I love my culture, I love my identity and how my upbringing has shaped my views. There’s a saying that goes “Naija no dey carry last”, essentially meaning, whatever Nigerians do, we will do it well. So of course, in the name of all that is fashion, I had to share some Nigerian owned clothing brands with you all because we are in the spirit of supporting Black owned businesses now and forever.

Ofuure

I shared this brand in a recent IG Reel video. I’ve known about this brand for awhile, but their infinity dresses and jumpsuits are what really caught my eye. I found it so innovative and smart. You essentially can get a different dress, depending on how you adjust the very long straps. I shared a video here with the 4 different ways I would wear it, but the options honestly seem limitless!

FSKP

This brand was started by an OG Style Blogger, Folake of Style Pantry. She was one of the inspirations behind me getting into style blogging, so it’s only right that I include her brand in this list! Her collections are always so sleek and chic and are right up my style alley, like these Chambray Wide-leg Pants. If you’re looking for pieces that are minimal but make a statement while staying affordable, then you’ll love this brand!

Shop A.Au

The child of travel and lifestyle influencer, @asiyamigold, Shop A.Au offers luxury statement pieces. Ever since she’s launched, I always wanted to get my hands on at least one piece and I finally have! I’m wearing the Daima top in this post which is from the Resort 2020 collection. If you’re a fan of satin, silk, and organza, then you will absolutely love this brand.

Oma the Label

I was introduced to this brand by another content creator who shared one of their pieces on her stories. I immediately bought it without even realizing that the brand was Nigerian owned! It is this white bodysuit that I shared in this video. I can’t tell you how obsessed I am with this piece. The brand is giving me that simple but chic vibe that is my current aesthetic. So if you’re someone that likes a site that doesn’t overwhelm, yet still provides quality and a decent price point, then look no further.

Andrea Iyamah

Initially started off as swimwear, Andrea Iyamah has transcended into providing high quality stand out pieces that are guaranteed to make a statement, like this ruffle pleated blouse. I’m definitely a fan of statement pieces that can be worn with more casual laid back pieces for a high low look, and this brand gives me just that!

Menogu Designs

This brand is near and dear to my heart because one of my closest and dearest friends is the owner. So of course, we stan! I saw this brand built up from the very beginning and it’s so beautiful seeing it flourish. One of the best selling pieces from the collection are these shredded earrings that I have seen numerous times on the gram. I love this piece because no two are the same. So you’re always bound to have a unique look. This brand was also included on Beyonce’s site of a round up of black owned brands.

Imad Eduso

I first came across this brand because I saw these pants on a fellow blogger I follow and I was obsessed! The structure, the material, the color, everything about it was screaming LUXE to me. The main fabric used is tafetta which is usually reserved for bridal pieces (which this brand also has), but when paired with more “everyday” looks…phew! It’s another level!

Kai Collective

This is another brand started by a fashion blogger in UK, Fisayo Longe. Her pieces have ALWAYS been a vibe, but her brand recently went viral with the Gai collection being worn on the cover of Elle magazine and was also included in Beyonce’s round of up of black owned brands. I am patiently waiting on the next drop from the brand because I have my coin ready and willing!
